Winterfest Street Closures & Traffic Notice
Saturday, February 14

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable Winterfest for everyone, several downtown streets will be temporarily closed on Saturday, February 14.

Please plan ahead and allow extra time for travel in the area.

Street Closures

• Liberty Street — from 2nd Street to the B&O Train Station


• 2nd Street — from Liberty/Green Street to the railroad


• Alder Street — from 2nd Street to 3rd Street

Pedestrian Safety Notice

Traffic control cones will be placed to alert motorists to increased pedestrian crossings.

Cones will be located on:

• Oak Street
• 2nd Street (between the railroad and Oak)
• 3rd Street

Pedestrian crossings will be active at:

• Alder & 3rd Street
• 2nd & Oak Street

Winterfest brings families, visitors, and increased foot traffic downtown.

Water Contact Advisory for Broadford Lake

The Garrett County Health Department has issued a water contact advisory for Broadford Lake due to the presence of a blue-green algae (Microcystis) bloom. The Town reaffirms that the Oakland drinking water supply remains clean, reliable, and safe. Oakland’s raw source water and processed drinking water are regularly tested in accordance with regulations and results continue to confirm that the drinking water remains safe for consumption.
