Marylandโ€™s Arts & Entertainment (A&E) Districts help develop and promote community involvement, tourism, and revitalization through tax-related incentives that attract artists, arts organizations, and other creative enterprises to towns and cities across the State. Our Vision

Our vision of the Oakland A&E District is a welcoming, diverse arts community, valuing the townโ€™s artistic heritage while continually seeking new experiences and opportunities in visual, performing, literary, and culinary arts, all to provide vital human respite and enrich the communityโ€™s daily lives. 

Our Mission

The mission of the Oakland A&E District is to revitalize the early 20th century arts for which the town was known and celebrated, by developing and promoting new experiences, opportunities, and tax-related incentives for area artists, arts organizations, and other members of the creative workforce.

District Manager

The Oakland A&E District is managed by the Garrett County Arts Council, a non-profit supporting the arts in Garrett County since 1976. garrettarts.org
