Due to the Labor Day holiday, trash collection will be delayed by one day the week following Labor Day. If your regular pickup day is Monday, it will be on Tuesday - & so on for the rest of the week.

The Planning Commission plays a vital role in shaping the long-term vision of Oakland. Members help guide the town’s growth and development by advising on the Comprehensive Plan, reviewing zoning and subdivision proposals, and making recommendations to ensure land use decisions reflect the best interests of the community.

Because of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, trash pickup will be on Thursday, May 29 next week.

The Town of Oakland is accepting applications for the full-time position of Wastewater Treatment Operator. The selected candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the Town’s wastewater treatment facilities and equipment. Duties will also include maintaining and repairing water and sewer lines, operating heavy machinery such as a backhoe, performing sample collection for laboratory testing, and ensuring compliance with federal and state safety regulations. Additional responsibilities involve general upkeep of facilities and grounds, as well as accurate data reporting.

The Mayor and Town Council will hold a public meeting on April 7, 2025 at Town Hall. Ordinances for the FY26 budget and business personal property assessment exemption will be introduced.
