UPDATE: BOIL WATER ADVISORY WITHDRAWN

Following further review, the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) revised its guidance and advised the Town that a boil water advisory is not necessary for this incident. Accordingly, the Town of Oakland is withdrawing the advisory issued earlier today.

The initial advisory was issued as a precaution based on the guidance available at that time. We recognize that this change may cause confusion and appreciate your patience as we communicate updated information.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Town will have a limited supply of bottled water available at Town Hall tomorrow morning, Wednesday, October 14, while supplies last.
