TOWN OF OAKLAND — PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER ADVISORY

Affected area: All Town of Oakland water customers

Following a valve break, the Town of Oakland is advising affected customers to boil tap water before consuming it as a precaution against possible bacterial contamination.

Heat water to a rolling boil, continue boiling for one minute, then allow it to cool. Alternatively, use bottled water. Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, preparing food and infant formula, making ice, brushing teeth, and washing dishes.

Flushing is underway. Continue these precautions until the Town announces that the advisory has been lifted.
