Veteran’s Day Parade Canceled - Service to be held at courthouse

Due to below freezing temperatures, the American Legion Post 71 Veterans Day parade in downtown Oakland will be canceled. Please join us instead for a service in the rotunda of the Garrett County Courthouse beginning at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11. Those needing handicap access can enter from the alley.

The entire community is invited to join the American Legion and the Town of Oakland, MD for its annual Veterans Day observance, honoring and recognizing all U.S. Military personnel for their patriotism and willingness to serve their country.
